Utilising technology to transition to remote working has been key to keeping things turning over the last month. As a result, our traditional work experience placements for young people are also being pivoted to a digital experience. We’re switching it up, as students will be emerging from education into a workplace that looks and feels different from what we’re used to. Young people will now get prior experience of digital & remote working experiences before entering the workplace.

Benefits of digital work experience

A digital work experience opportunity has the added benefits of not being constrained by geography and physical space. Certainly, geographical privilege will be removed and this will ‘level the playing field’ for social mobility. Employees of our client partners can engage with the experience in a more efficient way, as a digital mentor or through a webinar. All of which is less time-consuming than most physical volunteering opportunities.

Bringing it to life

Continuing to bring the experience to life, the overhauled work experience opportunity will utilise our engagement platform and it’s e-learning tools. Students will enjoy live and recorded webinars, podcasts, online challenges, and online tutor facilitators.

Reflecting the modern & agile working environment, this adapted programme will ensure students gain experience of current flexible working practices.

Pupils from Sacred Heart School, S.E. London fill in a questionnaire about power usage.

Social mobility

We were founded on our belief in social mobility, and this will continue throughout our work. We’ll carry making sure young people have an equal opportunity to develop themselves and prepare for the working world.
